Troon Golf Experience

Three courses of Lochgreen, Darley and Fullarton play alongside
Royal Troon, Portland and Barassie to form a group of six courses
that totally surround the famous golfing town of Troon.
Lochgreen
Although Lochgreen is predominately a links type course, the
layout is truely varied, with one stretch - known as 'Dovecot
Section' - providing holes of a more parkland type character. The
course has several holes that are reminiscent of its Royal
neighbour and one hole in particular - the fifth - would do justice
to any championship test.
Fullarton
At slightly less than 5000 yards, the course provides endless
enjoyment for golfers of more modest ability or those looking for a
testing morning warm up round.
An uplands links course, with narrow, undulating fairways
generally flanked by heather and gorse. With deceptively tight and
testing greens, here is where to sharpen your game.
Darley
Darley is a true links course as in the wildcat variety. It has
feline forecity and abounds with the renowned Scottish hazzards of
heather, gorse and whin.
Although not as long as Lochgreen, it is a tough test of golf,
demanding the most accurate of drives. The original Darley course
seems to date from around 1910 and the present course with an
original bogey (par) of 71 was opened on 9th June 1951.
The course was recently rated as the fourth most difficult in
Scotland to play to your handicap. If you score well here you have
played very well indeed.
