Can we have our wedding ceremony in Western House Hotel or at
Ayr Racecourse?
Yes, you can hold your ceremony in the Cathedral Ballroom or
weather permitting in our beautiful gardens complete with stunning
water features. Or for something completely different why not take
your vows in the paddock or winners enclosure?
Is it possible to get dressed in the Hotel if I have my
ceremony there?
Yes, we will ensure that there are facilities made available to
you if you wish to dress in the Hotel.
Is music provided for the ceremony?
Music is a very personal taste. So we would prefer that you
provide us with a CD to ensure the music of your choice can be
played on the day.
How do we go about organising our own ceremony and arranging
someone to conduct it?
You are required to source your own registrar, minister or
priest to conduct the ceremony.
Is there are a charge for holding the ceremony in the
hotel?
Yes, please contact our Wedding Co-ordinator, Jean Kerr, for
details.
Is there a separate cost for hiring the Cathedral Ballroom for
my Reception?
There is no hire charge for the Ballroom.
Do you provide a children's menu?
Yes there is a special children's menu or they may have a half
portion of the full menu.
Are vegetarian options on the menu?
Yes, we have this is included as standard on our menu.
Can you cater for guests with a special dietary
requirement?
We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements on an
individual basis.
Will it cost more to alter the menu?
Yes the menus can be altered and it would depend on what the
changes were as to whether there would be any extra cost.
Can we have a choice of menu?
We are happy to provide a choice menu.
How many guests can we have at the meal and then for the
evening reception?
The Cathedral Ballroom seats 180 for your wedding meal and can
accommodate up to 250 in total for the evening. For larger Weddings
our Princess Royal Events Centre is ideal.
Is there a Drinks Package?
We do not offer set Drinks Packages, leaving it flexible for you
to choose what you wish to offer your Guests throughout the day.
This is something we are happy to discuss at the enquiry stage.
Can I bring in my own wine?
No. We have an extensive wine list to suit everyone's palate and
budget.
Can I just have my Evening Reception with you, and what is the
hire charge?
We can offer Western House for Evening Receptions on
Monday-Wednesday (subject to availability & excluding Bank
Holiday Mondays). However our Princess Royal Events Centre is more
suitable for Evening Receptions and can be held at the weekend
there.
What is the deposit I have to pay to confirm my Provisional
booking?
We require a £500 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit to
secure your date with us. At this time a contract will be issued
for both the Bride & Groom to sign to guarantee your
Wedding.
When do I have to pay the full amount?
We would require 50% of your estimated costs three months prior
to the Wedding and then the remaining balance would have to be paid
two weeks prior to your date.
Can I pay something to my wedding every month if I wish?
Yes you can pay something towards your final bill every month,
or at any time, if you wish to do so this would then be deducted
off your final amount.
