Real Life Weddings

Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Bell who celebrated their special wedding day with us here at Western House in March 2023. 

 

 

How did you meet?

We knew each other beforehand as Scott played football with my brother although at that time we were both in other relationships. We then met years later on a Saturday night out and the rest is history!

 

Tell us about the proposal...

It was Christmas Eve 2018, Scott asked if we wanted to pour a wine and exchange a present however I was like no way!! He then said well I've got something for you to open and handed me a wrapped gift. I opened it and it was a 'wedding fund bank' I looked up severely confused and then he was down on one knee! It was just us and so personal and I loved it!

 

What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?

We had both been at separate weddings at the Western and it was amazing! We both remembered how fab the food was! We visited a few wedding venues but when we went to the Western, we just knew I suppose! Our little boy absolutely loves horses too, so the ornaments and grounds etc were a special little touch too!

 

 

What was the planning process like?

To be honest we were both quite chilled throughout the whole process, from the bookings to confirming the fine details! I definitely didn't think I was a bridezilla until the morning of the Wedding, everything hit me at once and I had a slight freak out (Laura and my bridesmaids got me through it though)! Scott is literally horizontal so nothing phased him!

Looking back, what was your favourite part of your wedding day? 

It was very personal and intimate to us. Although we had friends and family there, we were in our own little bubble and just on cloud 9! We loved the personal ceremony with all the details on how we met to when we became Facebook official and went on to have our little boy. It captured every special detail. The speeches were excellent as well, everyone was amazing and again they were so personal to us.

 

What is your favourite thing about married life?

The whole husband, wife thing! We overly refer to each other with our new title and love it! We also talk loads about our wedding day, it was just amazing!

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?

Just try not stress as much as you possibly can! The day goes in soooo fast (we couldn't believe how quickly) so just try and enjoy the planning and build up!
