Real Life Weddings

Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Clark who celebrated their special wedding day with us here at Western House in September 2021. Special thanks to imac images for the stunning photographs!

 

How did you meet?
We knew of one another through high-school friends but didn't properly meet until we were out on a night-out when we were 21. Graeme messaged me on Facebook the next day and we took it from there!

 

Tell us about the proposal...
We were on holiday in Playa del Muro and Graeme had planned to propose at a lakeside bar across the road from the hotel.  Unfortunately, Lauren was more interested in the magic show that the hotel was putting on that night so Graeme had to wait until later on and proposed on the hotel room balcony!

 

What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?
We had visited a handful of venues but hadn't felt like any of them where perfect for us. We visited the Western House at an open day and straight away knew that this was the one. We loved the grounds, the main hall and how friendly and accommodating Laura and the team were. 

 

What was the planning process like?
We were impacted by Covid so the planning process felt like it went on forever! Lauren is spreadsheet daft so we were fairly organised from the get go.

 

Looking back, what was your favourite part of your wedding day?
After a tough time for everyone during the pandemic we loved looking around the dancefloor and seeing our friends and family smiling, laughing and having a great time.

 

What is your favourite thing about married life?
We are finally happy to be able to call each other Husband and Wife!

 

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?
Our top tip would be to let the bride to be take charge (only half joking!). We'd say take a step back and breathe. It's really easy to get stressed over the small things.
