Real Life Weddings

Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Friskey who celebrated their special wedding day with us here at Western House in August 2024. 

 

 

How did you meet?

Good old fashioned tinder

 

Tell us about the proposal...

We were on the beach outside bamburgh castle it was a cold but very sunny Friday in November and the beach was practically empty. I walked down towards the sea turned round to see where Nick was and he was behind me on one knee with the ring in has hand and asked me to marry him.

 What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?

It just felt right. As soon as we walked in it felt like home. The venue is stunning the location was great and then after we met Laura and we were sold. It was a very easy decision

Looking back, what was your favourite part of your wedding day? 

The moment when we got to walk into the wedding breakfast with all our friends and family officially as Mr and Mrs Friskey.

 

What is your favourite thing about married life?

When we’re out for dinner or anything and Nick says myself and my wife. I love being his wife

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?

Just enjoy the process. Don’t stress it and end up spending months or years arguing or getting upset over it. The day will be amazing no matter what.

 

What was the planning process like?

To be honest we were both quite chilled throughout the whole process, from the bookings to confirming the fine details! I definitely didn't think I was a bridezilla until the morning of the Wedding, everything hit me at once and I had a slight freak out (Laura and my bridesmaids got me through it though)! Scott is literally horizontal so nothing phased him!
