Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Thompson who celebrated their spectacular autumn wedding day with us here at Western House in November 2019. Special thanks to Mark Wild Photography for the stunning photographs!

 

How did you meet?
We met at a festival in Austria. Scott was living in Germany at the time and me in Scotland so after we met, we did long distance for 2 years before Scott decided to move you Scotland.

Tell us about the proposal...
The proposal was short and sweet, Scott had been sent to work away so it was a bit more rushed than he would of liked. Then we decided to plan the wedding for 9 months time so I suppose the full process was fast paced for us.

 

What was the best part of planning a wedding?
The best part of planning our wedding was getting to plan it together. Spending time together knowing it was going to lead up to our big day. Which was exciting once you start seeing the planning and hard work paying off.

We loved our wedding at western house and if we were to do it all again I would happily choose Western House. They know how to host the perfect day and to take the worry away from you in the planning.

What would be your biggest piece of advice to newly engaged couples?
The biggest piece of advice we could give is enjoy the planning, don’t stress to much over the small details the main thing to remember is why you are getting married, and also put your thoughts first. It’s your day after all, and if you do what suits you both as a couple that’s what’s going to make you wedding unique to you.

What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?
I had worked down at Western House freelance before so I knew the hotel, and because we were having a winter wedding it was perfect. All the fireplaces keep it so cosy, but the gardens are also beautiful for pictures. Anytime we were down the service was outstanding so it was an easy decision for us to choose there. The different levels of packages are great to suit every budget and have plenty to keep your guests happy. The wedding coordinators are with you helping and planning every step of the way.
