Take a peak at the Wedding Day of Mr & Mrs Wilson

Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Wilson who celebrated their spectacular wedding day with us here at Western House. Special thanks to Dream Day Photography for the stunning photographs!

How did you meet?
We met in Magaluf, Spain in 2018. We we’re working a season there at the same time and started flirting in a nightclub. I was living in Paris at the time and he was from Ayr, I moved to Scotland to be with him after the summer season had ended. We’ve been glued to the hip ever since.

Tell us about the proposal...
New Year’s Eve we were about to go meet family in town and he called me up stairs, candles and rose petals everywhere, there he was down on one knee in our bedroom crying his eyes out with the most beautiful sparkly ring. It was just perfect!

What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?
I first visited the Western House with my mother in law and I instantly wanted to show Robbi the beautiful ballroom, the high ceiling and light coming in the windows, it was like something from a Disney movie.

The gardens were perfect for our very important pictures with our fur babies.

We knew it was the one when we visited together.

Laura was an absolute sweetheart, so helpful and answered all our questions during the whole process.

We wouldn’t have changed a thing.

What was the planning process like?
I loved every minute of the process, so much so that I can’t wait for all my friends to get married so I can help organise theirs. It’s very fun but can be stressful at times. Robbi didn’t help too much and I preferred it that way lol.

Looking back, what was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Our favourite part was having our families together celebrating, after a long 2 years of social distancing and lockdown, finally being able to hug and laugh with our family and friends was by far the best part.

What is your favourite thing about married life?
To be honest it doesn’t feel any different.

We’ve always been like an old married couple, now it’s official, we are a family.

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?
You don’t need the most expensive fancy stuff for it to be a great day. Don’t worry about impressing and pleasing everyone else, it’s your day not theirs.

The day goes so quickly so take a minute to look around and take it all in. Videographer and photographer are very important to look back and cherish the day over and over.

We loved our wedding at Western House Hotel and if we were to do it all again I would happily choose Western House. They know how to host the perfect day and to take the worry away from you in the planning.
